SETTING UP E-MAIL WITH OUTLOOK 2002

STEP I:


First open Outlook Express, and click on the Tools option from the top menu.

Then click on "Accounts..."

STEP II:


Look down this list until you see the E-mail Account... menu item.

Now click this option....


STEP III:


Click on the option Add a new e-mail account.

Now that the Add a new e-mail account is selected, click on the Next button at the bottom of that window.

STEP IV:


Click on the POP3 option and then click Next.

STEP V:


This window will ask for several bits of information that is specific to your account.

Just fill in the information in each field using the guide below....


USER INFORMATION
Your Name: Just type your actual name here (example: John Doe)
E-mail Adress: Type in your COMPLETE e-mail address (example: name@here.com)

Default Settings:
Incoming mail server (POP3): mail.appsmail.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Contact your Internet Service Provider
If Apps Communications is your ISP, use "mail.appsmail.com" as your SMTP Server

New Settings:
*ONLY use the below information if you know that you are using our new email server
Incoming mail server (POP3): mail2.appsmail.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Contact your Internet Service Provider
If Apps Communications is your ISP, use "mail2.appsmail.com" as your SMTP Server


LOGIN INFORMATION

User Name: This is very important! Once again, type your FULL address here. NOT just your user name! (example: name@here.com)
Password: Type your password in here.

Now click the More Settings Button.....

STEP VI:


You can now name your E-mail account in the MAIL ACCOUNT field. This can be whatever name you want. It is used to identify the specific account you are creating right now. You may add separate accounts to Outlook later.

You may also fill in the Organization and Reply E-mail fields if you wish, but this is not necessary.

Now click on the OUTGOING SERVER tab at the top-right of this window.

STEP VII:


Click the checkbox to select "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication."

Make sure the "Log on using" bullet is selected, then fill in the following fields:

User Name: Type your COMPLETE e-mail address here. For example: me@domain.com

Password: Type your password here

Now click on OK, and you will return to the E-mail Accounts window....

STEP VIII:


You may now click on the "TEST ACCOUNT SETTINGS" button to see if everything is working correctly.

You have now successfully setup your e-mail account! Just click Next to finish.
